Manchester United could have Tinder on their sleeves next season as dating app confirms sponsorship talks
Manchester United could be about to swipe right on having Tinder plastered on the sleeves of their shirt this season after the dating app company confirmed they were in talks with the Old Trafford club.
From this season top-flight clubs will be given the opportunity to have a sponsor’s logo branded on the left sleeve of their shirt, with the right sleeve still carrying the Premier League badge.
Nine clubs have already secured sleeve sponsorship for the forthcoming season, including Manchester City and Chelsea, although Tinder did not confirm that they were in talks about that specifically.
“We are in talks with Manchester United to explore potential partnership opportunities. We are excited to see what we can do together,” a Tinder spokesperson said.
According to reports, Tinder are said to be offering £12m-a-year for the sponsorship.
Should the dating app appear on the sleeve of United’s shirt, they would increase their standing as the most expensive shirt in world football, already receiving £50m-a-year from Chevrolet and £75m-a-year from Adidas.
They already have a partnership with Serie A side Napoli, which includes a special interaction with Poland striker Arkadiusz Milik, who was given a profile on the dating app.
Tinder has 50m users worldwide who make around 1bn swipes per day.
