Borussia Dortmund not interested in taking Henrikh Mkhitaryan back from Man United
Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke says the club have no interest in re-signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Armenian playmaker has struggled for form and fitness since making the move to Old Trafford during the summer.
Mkhitaryan, 27, has made just one start in the league under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United. That start came in the 2-1 derby defeat to Manchester City at Old Trafford, with the former Dortmund midfielder being benched at half time.
Shinji Kagawa also made the switch from Dortmund to Manchester in recent years, and returned to the Westfalenstadion after failing to settle in Manchester.
However, Watzke has ruled out a move for Mikhtaryan.
"No. Any intelligent player should consider in advance what kind of environment they are moving to," he told Kicker.
"When you are playing in surroundings where things are working for you, like in Dortmund,
then it is quite strange to give that away again once things have finally started to work out for you after a long time settling in."
Mkhitaryan has returned to United training after a recent injury, and will be hoping to force his way into Mourinho's plans in the coming weeks.
