Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea played out an entertaining goalless draw at Old Trafford and here is how the players rated.

Manchester United

David De Gea: Superb save to deny John Terry early on and again to thwart Pedro and Cesar Azpilicueta in quick succession. Nine out of 10.

Matteo Darmian: Got forward whenever possible but left a big hole for Nemanja Matic on the break in the second half. 7

Chris Smalling: Not as assured as he has been for most of the season. Booked for a petty foul. 6

Daley Blind: Looked far more comfortable at centre-half. 7

Ashley Young: Bombed down the flanks well, causing Azpilicueta countless problems. 7

Morgan Schneiderlin: A justified return to the starting XI. Went close to scoring in the first half. 7

Bastian Schweinsteiger: Brought calmness and composure to the midfield following his return from suspension. 7

Juan Mata: A constant menace. Rattled the bar in the third minute. 8

Ander Herrera: A few misplaced passes, but effective on the whole. 7

Anthony Martial: The most dangerous player in United's team. Chelsea had to resort to hacking him down to stop him. 8

Wayne Rooney: A much more confident display. Almost scored a screamer from 30 yards. 8

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson (on for Darmian, 73mins): Looked promising when going forward. 6

Memphis Depay (on for Mata, 77mins): Did little. 6

Phil Jones (on for Blind, 81mins): Little time to make an impact. 6

Thibaut Courtois: Brilliant save to deny Herrera from close range. 8

Branislav Ivanovic: Head still spinning after being given a torrid night by Anthony Martial. 5

Kurt Zouma: Put in a couple of telling tackles, including a key one on Martial. 7

John Terry: A solid performance and almost scored in the first half. 7

Cesar Azpilicueta: Another full-back who had a difficult night. 5

Nemanja Matic: Ballooned Chelsea's best chance high into the East Stand after being played through. 5

John Obi Mikel: Hacked down Martial to earn a booking. Did little else. 5

Pedro: Almost scored in the second half with a low drive excellently saved by De Gea. 6

Oscar: Had little impact on the game. 5

Willian: Lucky to get away with a handball in his own box. 5

Eden Hazard: Did not provide the answer Guus Hiddink was looking for up front in Diego Costa's absence. 5

Ramires (on for Willian, 70mins): Added more steel in midfield. 6

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (on for Oscar, 90mins): Brought on to waste time. 5
