Republic of Ireland international Seamus Coleman is being linked with an audacious move to Old Trafford with former Toffee Marounae Felliani heading in the opposite direction.

One of the most highly-regarded right backs in the Premier League, he was linked to United and Arsenal last season before signing a five-and-a-half year deal at Goodison Park last June.

Manager Louis Van Gaal has already splashed out on Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw and while a central defender would appear to be a more pressing priority, the Guardian are among those suggesting that a swap deal is on the cards.

The Belgian international has struggled with form and injuries since his £27.5m move to Old Trafford last September, with reports suggesting United will offer cash plus the midfielder to prize the Donegal native to Manchester.
