West Bromwich Albion kept alive their impossible dream - for a few days at least - with a stoppage-time winner against Tottenham that said much about the unity that caretaker boss Darren Moore has fostered.

Jake Livermore was credited with the final touch following a scramble on the Spurs' goal-line, although it was not clear whether the midfielder could properly claim it as his.

Not that the Spurs academy product minded. As one of the 'Cab Four', Livermore was part of the quartet of senior players whose antics with a taxi on a mid-season break in Barcelona served to encapsulate the lack of discipline and dressing-room disharmony during Alan Pardew's reign.

On Saturday, he was the hero who, at the very least, had postponed relegation. "We love each other in there," Livermore said, nodding in the direction of the dressing room. "We are trying to do it for each other."

Perhaps those are words Tottenham should heed. Mauricio Pochettino's weary looking team still have work to do to be certain of finishing in the top four.

Pochettino, who substituted Dele Alli with a third of the match left and watched Harry Kane lacking sharpness, grumbled about a "lack of ambition" in his players.
