Liverpool teenager Trent Alexander-Arnold hit a smashing first-half free kick to put Jurgen Klopp's side 1-0 up in Germany against Hoffenheim.

The 18-year-old defender, making his Champions League debut, curled in a beautiful effort on 34 minutes after Sadio Mane burst through the Hoffenheim defence, skipping past three challenges, before he was taken down.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp named an unchanged team to face Hoffenheim in their crucial Champions League qualifier in Germany.

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firminho once again formed an attacking trio while at the back, Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip get the nod at centre-half despite shipping three goals away to Watford last Saturday.
