Watch: Simon Mignolet does a 'Karius' with howler in 2-2 draw with Sporting
Simon Mignolet produced an unfortunate blunder as Liverpool drew 2-2 with Sporting Lisbon at Yankee Stadium last night in the final game of their European Tour.
The Belgian has found himself playing second fiddle to Alisson Becker since the Brazilian's arrival at Anfield last summer and that seems unlikely to change on the evidence of last night.
Mignolet gifted the Portuguese side the lead after just four minutes after he failed to gather Bruno Fernandes speculative effort and the ball spun out of his hands and into the net.

The mistake resembled an error Loris Karius made in the 2018 Champions League final which gifted Real Madrid a goal.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp last week confirmed that he hopes the 31-year-old remains on Merseyside.
Asked if Mignolet will stay at Anfield, Klopp said: “Yes. I would say, yes. I have had a lot of conversations with him in the last couple of years and months. We spoke before we left (for the summer break).
“It is because at a club like Liverpool you need two number ones, at least, in the club. That’s cool with Ali and Simon. A good situation for the club and a situation you should have. Everything is fine from my point of view.”
