Watch: 'I'm too heavy for Man United chairs' - Jurgen Klopp's sinking feeling in his press conference
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp encountered an unexpected problem as he met the media following his side’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday, with the chairs in the Old Trafford press room collapsing under his weight.
“I’m definitely too heavy for the Man United chairs,” joked Klopp as he tried two chairs that both creaked and began to sink when he sat on them.
The Liverpool boss soldiered on with his media duties as he accused Jose Mourinho’s side of launching ‘long ball tactics’ with their move to throw Marouane Fellaini into the fray in the closing stages, with the Belgian playing a role in the move that ended with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s 84th minute equaliser.
“In the end period of the game when United started playing long balls to Marouane Fellaini and Zlatan Ibrahimovic,” he stated. “The ball was bouncing around everywhere.
“It is so intense. They play long balls, it was a wild game. There was a lot of action in the last few minutes. We were here to win the game, which is why we are not 100 per cent satisfied to leave with a draw.”
