Liverpool stars Naby Keita and Sadio Mane have advised Timo Werner to join them at Anfield this summer.
Werner, the RB Leipzig striker, continues to be linked with Anfield and Reds boss Jurgen Klopp may find himself short of options up front come July. Daniel Sturridge's contract expires, Dominic Solanke has joined Bournemouth and Divock Origi is likely to have left too.
Werner, meanwhile, is out of contract in the summer of 2020, with Leipzig eager for the 22-year-old to sign new terms. If he does not, they will likely sell this summer, though competition is expected to be fierce.
Now Keita and Mane have said they want Werner at Liverpool.
"We played very well together in Leipzig, and he was one of my best friends there," said Keita. "It's clear: If he'll be on the move, I ask Timo to join us here at Liverpool."
Mane added: "I'd advise him to join Liverpool. I like his style of play. Very forceful, good finish, always giving it 100 percent. If he wants to join us, we'd welcome him to our team.
"When it was clear that Naby would join us, I often watched Leipzig matches. But to be honest: It was dreadful for me at the start.
"Naby saw quite a few red cards. I then asked Kevin Kampl, my friend from our time at RB Salzburg, why Naby always got sent off. He didn't know.
"Naby missed some important games and I could watch other players more closely. And Timo stood out."
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Thomas Delaney says it has been his job to keep Jadon Sancho's feet on the ground, but could not help the youngster remember his passport on the journey to London.
