Jurgen Klopp: I watched Rocky to get motivated for Merseyside Derby

Jurgen Klopp has taken a rather unorthodox approach to Monday night's Merseyside Derby against Everton at Goodison Park.

Both Liverpool and Everton will go into the first derby of the season on the back of two good midweek wins against Middlesbrough and Arsenal respectively.

And Klopp has turned to Everton's biggest fan - Sylvester Stallone - ahead of the Monday night showdown.

“It’s very, very, very, very big. Everyone knows about the derby. It’s pretty special," said Klopp.

“I watched the movie Creed - my first impression of Goodison Park.

“It will be a real battle between two good teams. Motivation will be clear. We will fill each space they give us in the stand.

“It’s out job to keep the home fans quiet.”

Klopp also confirmed that Simon Mignolet will once again start in goal with Loris Karius on the bench.

“I don’t want to change now each week. Simon had a really good game. It was about not pushing Loris through the situation," added Klopp.

“Loris can use the time in training with no pressure. I know about how fantastic he is as a goalkeeper.

"I am responsible for the boys. Sometimes it’s my job to take them out of the firing line or public view. I decided for a player, not against another one.”
