Liverpool hired a private jet to ensure their Brazilian players made a rapid return from international duty ahead of tomorrow's crucial showdown with Tottenham.

Alisson, Roberto Firmino and Fabinho were in the squad for the 5-0 victory over El Salvador held in Maryland on Wednesday. But the trio were back at Melwood ahead of schedule for a light training session yesterday, maximising preparation time for the trip to Wembley.

Fabinho is in contention to be in the squad following Adam Lallana's groin strain suffered on international duty.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are planning to appoint a former Manchester United goalkeeping coach. Jack Robinson, the English FA's national goalkeeper coach, has been offered the chance to work alongside John Achterberg with Liverpool's first team.
