Crystal Palace target Liverpool's Danny Ings and will make £20m bid
Crystal Palace are ready to pay £20m for Liverpool striker Danny Ings. Roy Hodgson is targeting a raid on his former club for Ings, the England international who is poised to leave Liverpool this summer.
Hodgson will move for Ings when he raises money from player sales and is hoping to convince the 26-year-old to choose Palace as his next club.
Ings is also of interest to Southampton and Newcastle but Hodgson wants the forward to spearhead Palace's attack in the forthcoming Premier League season.
Palace have opened talks over a possible deal with Liverpool and will be asked to pay an initial £20m, which could rise to around £25m after various clauses.
Ings has two years remaining on his Liverpool contract and has reached an amicable agreement with manager Jürgen Klopp that he can leave this summer.
Simon Mignolet, the goalkeeper, is also heading for the Anfield exit with Turkish club Besiktas making contact over a deal.
Mignolet is valued at around £12m by Liverpool and is facing a bleak future under Klopp following the arrival of Alisson from Roma.
Besiktas need a new goalkeeper after offloading Fabri to Fulham in a £5m deal earlier this week.
Liverpool will also listen to offers for Belgium international Divock Origi, Sheyi Ojo, Lazar Markovic and Pedro Chirivella as Klopp moves to trim his squad.
