Liverpool set to bid £12 million for Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic
Liverpool are interested in signing Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic this summer, according to The Mirror.
The Montenegro striker has fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad and could be available for just £12m at the end of the season.
Brendan Rodgers is a long-term admirer of the player and is desperate to bolster his frontline after a disappointing campaign.
Jovetic's arrival looks set to spell the end of Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert's Anfield careers, both of whom have failed to deliver since arriving last summer.
Liverpool are also poised to sign Danny Ings from Burnley.
Clarets manager Sean Dyche dropped a big hint that Ings will leave, saying: "It's good to see his development. It looks like it is not going to continue with us, but I think we have played a big part in how he has moved forward."
West Brom striker Saido Berahino could also arrive at Anfield this summer, but his manager Tony Pulis has urged him to say at the Hawthorns.
Pulis was quoted in The Mirror as saying: “I think the kid should stay, I have said that to him.
“He is enjoying his football and he has a better rapport now with everybody around the football club and is a better lad than when I first walked through the door. He is more open, together and integrated in the group.”
