Le Tissier claims he will appear naked on television if Stephen Ward's Chelsea strike wins goal of the season
Sky Sports football pundit Matt Le Tissier has said that he will appear naked on television if Republic of Ireland defender Stephen Ward wins the Premier League's goal of the season award for his strike against Chelsea last weekend.
Ward scored a superb second goal in Burnley's 3-2 win over the defending champions with many praising the Dubliner's first-half strike as a possible goal of the season contender.
The subject was raised on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday with Le Tissier appearing to tell his fellow panelists that if Ward's strike wins the award, then he'll appear on the programme naked.
"Tell the public what you've just told us," said host Jeff Stelling.
To which Le Tissier replied: "I said if that wins goal of the season... no I won't because there will be a public vote."
Stelling would not let the former Saint get away with the claim and revealed that the former England international said that he would appear naked on Soccer Saturday if Ward's strike won the goal of the season award.
Ward was handed a new two-year contract by Burnley after the Chelsea win with the former Bohemians star extending his stay at Turf Moor until the end of the 2018/19 season.
