Departing Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp is reported to be "keen" on managing at Anfield.

The German (47), who will leave Dortmund at the end of the season, is primed to realise a long-held ambition of managing in the Premier League and is believed to prefer Liverpool over possible moves to either Manchester City or Arsenal.

Liverpool's owners Fenway Sports Group are losing patience with boss Brendan Rodgers after a third successive trophyless season and see Klopp, who has won two Bundesliga titles, a German Cup and brought Dortmund to a Champions League final in 2013, as the ideal candidate to replace the Northern Irishman.

Rodgers' stock amongst the Anfield faithful depleted further after last Sunday's limp FA Cup semi-final defeat to Aston Villa at Wembley, with many fans questioning whether the job is too big for him.

Colombian striker Radamel Falcao - currently on loan to Manchester United from Monaco - is believed to be top of Liverpool's list of summer transfer targets.
