Jamie Carragher delivered a withering assessment of Maurizio Sarri's tenure Chelsea claiming he's "turned them into Arsenal".

The Blues were taken apart by a rampant Manchester City who scored four goals without reply in a relentlessly one-sided first-half at the Etihad before going to a record an emphatic 6-0 win.

Sergio Aguero scored twice while Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan also found the net as the visitors sank without a trace.

And Carragher couldn't hide his disdain for what he'd seen.

"Disgraceful, this is as bad as anything," he said on Sky Sports during the half-time break.

"He's [Maurizio Sarri] turned Chelsea into the Arsenal team that used to get battered for the last seven, eight years away from home in big games because they're so weak.

"You never say that about Chelsea no matter what has gone on, but they have been weak. We're watching a really weak football team here."

A win for City moves them back top of the Premier League table while the manner and margin of the defeat sees Chelsea lose ground in the race for the top four.

Manchester United leapfrogged them on Saturday with the win at Fulham.
