Tottenham striker Harry Kane sparked something of a Twitter storm among Chelsea fans as he poked fun at their ‘celebrations’ following last night’s feisty 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

A clearly deflated Kane offered his congratulations to Leicester as their remarkable Premier League title triumph before suggesting the euphoria displayed by Chelsea players and fans at the end of the whistle was a little surprising in a season when they have surrendered the trophy they won last season in such limp fashion.

“When the ex-champions are celebrating like they won the league at the end, it shows that we're doing something right,” stated Kane.

“A 2-2 draw and were are coming away feeling we have lost. They have come a way thinking celebrating, so we have come a long way.

“We've just got to keep doing what we're doing, we've got a great bunch of lads, a great manager, great staff and we've just got to keep that and keep moving forward.”

Kane admitted he was frustrated by Tottenham’s failure to finish off Chelsea after they had established a 2-0 lead, as he insisted his team were good enough to bounce back.

“We wanted to come here and win and keep the pressure on Leicester, but it hasn’t happened,” he added. “We have had a few games this season where we have come out after a good first half and not finished the game off, so we have to learn from it.

“I am incredibly proud of the lads for what we have achieved this season and we have to finish it off now.”
