French media outlets are saying that Leicester's most important player wants to join Arsenal
Leicester's sensational surge to the Premier League title has made stars out of their entire team.
From workhorse defender Wes Morgan, to skillful midfield magician Riyad Mahrez to tireless striker Jamie Vardy, so many of the league-winning eleven have become household names after a season for the ages.
But one man at the heart of the team is arguably Leicester's most important player. N'golo Kante is the side's engine, incessantly hunting down opposition attackers to break up play to help launch Leicester's counterattacks.
Kante didn't win any of the end of season awards but he is garnering just as much attention from other clubs as his team-mates who did.
Earlier in the week a report from France's leading sports newspaper L'Equipe claimed that Man City and Arsenal were both looking to secure the French international but a few others publications have today said that the player has stated his preference.
Le 10 Sport and Telefoot are both saying that Kante has told Leicester that if he does leave this summer, he would like to join Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.
While that is by no means a confirmation that the holding midfielder will move to London, it would be no surprise if the 25-year-old, who joined the Foxes from Caen for just €8m last summer, decided to cash in on his recent performances.
It would be a shrewd signing by Arsene Wenger, as Kante could form a formidable midfield two with compatriot Francis Coquelin that would make the Gunners very hard to break down.
