Euro fears for Johnson
Adam Johnson has voiced fears that his prospects of playing for England at Euro 2012 risk being compromised by his failure to convince Roberto Mancini to hand him regular football at Manchester City.
The 24-year-old made only his fifth Premier League start this season during the 3-0 victory against Stoke City in midweek.
An impressive performance combined with a stunning first-half goal have left the winger in contention for another start against West Brom at The Hawthorns on Monday.
Mancini's concerns over Johnson's defensive capabilities and levels of concentration have led to the winger being overlooked by the City manager on several occasions.
"Obviously, I've been disappointed that I haven't played so many games," Johnson said. "But when I've played, I've scored five goals in five starts.
"Euro 2012 is in the back of my mind because I know Fabio Capello likes players to be playing every week. It's a major thing for me, to try and go there having missed out on the World Cup."
