Mystery surrounds the absence of Damien Duff from the Fulham side for Saturday's scoreless draw with West Brom, WRITES DANIEL McDONNELL.

The popular Dubliner missed out on the game, with the London club explaining that he was unavailable due to 'private and personal' reasons.

Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni will be hoping that everything is okay with Duff, who was one of the better performers in the double-header with Slovakia and Russia earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Robbie Keane will skip LA Galaxy's league meeting with New York Red Bulls to get a full week's preparation in for Ireland's crunch Euro 2012 qualifier with Andorra on Friday week.
