CHRIS HUGHTON will be interviewed for the West Bromwich Albion job next week.

The former Ireland international, who has been out of work since Norwich City dispensed with his services last month, faces competition from Steve Bould, Tim Sherwood and Glenn Hoddle for the position.

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland have included Republic of Ireland target Ryan McLaughlin in their squad to face Uruguay and Chile on May 30 and June 4.

The promising full-back, who played for Liverpool against Shamrock Rovers last week, has been on the FAI's radar for the last 12 months.

Elsewhere, Stephen Ward has made it clear to both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton & Hove Albion that he wants to return to England's south coast next season after his successful loan spell there this year.

The Republic of Ireland international is still under contract at Wolves but hopes to leave.
