Video: Jose Mourinho jokes about Chelsea not winning on The Clare Balding Show
Jose Mourinho has joked about Chelsea's current plight in a light-hearted interview with BBC presenter, Clare Balding.
Mourinho joined Balding with the Portuguese's future at Stamford Bridge hanging in the balance.
The Chelsea board are understood to have discussed the 52-year-old's position with the Premier League champions sitting in fifteenth place in the table.
Chelsea's 2-1 defeat to Leicester City on Monday night was their ninth league defeat of the season, a result which prompted Roman Abramovich to begin his search for a potential mid-season replacement.
It's understood that the only factor keeping Mourinho from the sack is the uncertainty around the quality of candidates available to takeover halfway through the season. Despite facing the biggest managerial crisis of his career, Mourinho appeared to be refreshingly laid back in his interview with Clare Balding.
When asked whether he sends fellow managers Christmas cards, Mourinho revealed he categorises his colleagues into three different groups.
"One group I just sign. Another one, I send a personalised message and the other one I just don't send," Mourinho replied.
"To Big Sam, the Christmas card is not big enough as I love to send a message to this guy."
Clare Balding finished the show by asking what bring some Christmas cheer to the Chelsea manager: "What are the things that make you smile and give you peace?"
"At this moment? Win a match!" Mourinho responded.
