Andre Schurrle has hit back at critics of Chelsea and manager Jose Mourinho by claiming that they are "jealous".

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers accused Chelsea of parking "two buses" during their 2-0 win at Anfield and complained about the time-wasting of Mourinho's team.

Chelsea's performance has sparked fierce debate over the tactics of Mourinho, but Schurrle has insisted that the gameplan worked perfectly and that criticism is driven by envy.

"If people look at us and say 'Chelsea can't play' even when we win, it's just because they're jealous," Schurrle said. "Winning is what matters.

"You can play perfect football, lots of one-touch stuff, and you lose. But that's not what you want. There's no point in playing well and losing. If our plan is to win playing this way, and we win, then it is perfect." (© Daily Telegraph, London)
