Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has made Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez his top transfer target for this summer as the Blues manager looks to build on what has already been a stellar debut season in the Premier League.
Conte is currently in talks with Chelsea over a new contract extension, with the club keen to extend the Italian's stay at Stamford Bridge and improve the terms on his current three-year deal, worth around £6.5m per year, which he signed last summer.
According to The Guardian, as part of his negotiations, Conte has submitted a transfer list to recruitment director Marina Granovskaia and technical director, Michael Emenalo, with Sanchez and a left-sided defender the manager's top priorities this summer.
Sanchez has grown increasingly frustrated over the last few months with Arsenal's lack of on-field success, and has demanded a £130,000 a week wage increase to £250,000 in his contract negotiations with the club, a figure Sanchez claims to be non-negotiable.
The Chilean still has 15 months left on his current deal with Arsenal and his agent Fernando Felicevich is understood to be aware of Chelsea’s interest, but insists that there has been no official bid from the Premier League leaders.
Former Republic of Ireland manager Brian Kerr has said that fans were "swizzed out of an international match" after Ireland's 1-0 loss to Iceland at the Aviva Stadium on Tuesday night.
