Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, who earlier this week was reassured that at least three more new players would arrive at Stamford Bridge before the transfer window closes, is understood to have increased his interest in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The Arsenal midfielder has just one year left on his contract and had been linked with a move across the capital earlier this summer, but according to the Daily Mail the Premier League champions are now ready to 'intensify their efforts' with a bid of around £25 million.

Clearly not content with the prospect of upsetting some fans in one part of north London, Conte is also, according to the one red top, hoping to take Danny Rose from Tottenham Hotspur.

The Italian manager had hoped to sign Alex Sandro from Juventus, though the Turin club are digging their heels in and are reportedly demanding at least £60m for the Brazilian.

Despite having had surgery in May, Rose is expected to be fit by the end of August and Chelsea are understood to be preparing a £40m bid for the 27-year-old.

Depending on who you believe, Arsenal forward Alexis Sánchez is either on the brink of joining Paris St-Germain, considering a move to Manchester City or, you know, doing what he is paid handsomely to do and remain an Arsenal player.

A report in the Independent claims the Chile forward is wanted by PSG who are still looking to spend despite paying almost £200m for Neymar, while the player is said to prefer a move north to City.

However, our own Jason Burt reckons PSG have dropped their interest in Sánchez following the completion of the Neymar deal.

After Roma had a number of bids rejected by Leicester City – including one for £32m – Inter Milan have become the latest Serie A club to show an interest in the Premier League club's midfielder Riyad Mahrez, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League club, though, are understood to be holding out for around £50m for the Algeria international.

Leicester, meanwhile, have been dealt a blow to their hopes of signing Jonny Evans after the West Bromwich Albion defender said he is happy at the Hawthorns.

“I’ve been made club captain this season so unless the club turn around and say they want to sell me nothing has changed from the last two seasons,” said Evans.
