'At least I f*****g tried' - Arsenal legend Ian Wright loses his cool after dour defeat
Former striker Ian Wright led the condemnation of Arsenal's performance in their embarrassing loss to Crystal Palace, saying: "At least I tried."
As the Gunners suffered another serious blow to their Champions League hopes - and manager Arsene Wenger to his standing among the fans - criticism rained in.
Writing on Twitter, Wright, the club's second-highest goalscorer, said: "Wow, some of the comments I get from Arsenal fans on here.
"At least I f*****g tried! That dressing room is lost. Brilliant stuff palace."
Former Arsenal right-back Lee Dixon was also critical of the players, posting on his Twitter account: "Sometimes players have nights where nothing goes right. All 11 of them tonight."
Wenger is yet to announce whether he is signing a new contract to remain at the club next season.
Former England striker Gary Lineker said on Twitter: "Can't see Arsene Wenger announcing his new contract this week."
Jay Bothroyd, a graduate of the Arsenal academy, wrote on his Twitter account: "Only Arsenal tolerate failure! It's disgusting!
"Who will go to AFC next year? AFC don't pay like the rest of prem top teams and don't win!"
Television host and Arsenal fan Piers Morgan posted on Twitter: "Time for everyone who genuinely cares about this club to stand up & say 'ENOUGH'. #WengerOut."
