Arsenal have moved closer to signing Espanyol defender Hector Moreno after the defender expressed his wish to join the club.

Tottenham and Manchester United are both keen on the centre-back, but according to The Express his preference is to link up with Arsene Wenger at the Emirates.

Reports say he has told his agent to set up a move to north London this summer after catching Arsenal's eye with a number of assured performances.

It is believed that an offer in the region of £15m would force Espanyol's hand.

Another player who is said to be keen on joining the club this summer is Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain.

The Argentinian international has often been linked with a move to Arsenal, and according to reports in Italy the transfer could finally go through at the end of the season.

Juventus are in the hunt for the forward but could be put off by his £28.9m price tag.

Arsenal are interested in signing Birmingham City wunderkind Demarai Gray, according to The Metro.

The 18-year-old winger has made a real impression in the Championship this season, with six goals from 37 games.

Everton, Tottenham and Liverpool are also interested in signing the £3m youngster.
