The shortlist for the PFA Player of the Year award was announced last week.

Here, Press Association Sport looks at how they played over the weekend. Tottenham's Dele Alli, a player many observers were surprised did not receive enough votes to make the shortlist, is also assessed.

Eden Hazard (Chelsea): A quiet outing after being identified early on as the Chelsea danger man by Manchester United and was well watched throughout, particularly by Ander Herrera.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Manchester United): Eyebrows were raised as the 28-goal striker was named on the bench against Chelsea because of tiredness - a week after the Swede compared himself to Benjamin Button - and he did not get the chance to make an impact after being brought on only for the closing stages.

Harry Kane (Tottenham): Making his first start in five weeks, the England striker was not at his sharpest against Bournemouth but he still posed a constant threat, setting up Son Heung-min with a neat flick before scoring his 20th goal of the season.

N'Golo Kante (Chelsea): Broke up some of Manchester United's attacks in typical fashion but found himself overrun in midfield as the Premier League leaders were outplayed at Old Trafford.

Romelu Lukaku (Everton): Barely had a kick for 75 minutes against Burnley and then scored his customary late goal to seal his side's victory. Not one of his better performances.

Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal): Scored a delicious free-kick to pave the way for his side's hard-fought 2-1 win at Middlesbrough - and also provided the cross which led to Mesut Ozil's winner.

Dele Alli (Tottenham): After such an explosive few weeks, Alli was unusually quiet. Son nicked a chance off him when the South Korean was offside but this was not one of Alli's more eye-catching displays.
