Pearson: Foxes can flourish
Leicester boss Nigel Pearson is convinced his promoted team can more than hold its own in the Barclays Premier League.
Last season's Sky Bet Championship winners have already been installed among those clubs tipped to find the going tough in the top flight when the new campaign gets under way next month.
However, while Pearson knows life will be significantly more difficult among the English game's elite, he has no fears that his players will cope.
He told the Leicester Mercury: "I believe we have a squad which is capable of making the transition.
"We are not going to dominate like we did last season - that goes without saying - but there is an air of confidence among the players that they believe they have the ability to perform. I fully agree."
Pearson added: "I have been asked if staying up is just enough, and that has to be the bottom line.
"I think, more importantly, the players have a belief and the staff have a belief in the players that they are capable.
"A top-10 finish would be huge, but we have to make sure our first goal is to establish ourselves in the Premier League."
