Paul the Octopus has been given his own permanent memorial just months after passing on to the great fish tank in the sky. The tentacled tipster's monument, dubbed Paul's Corner, was unveiled on Thursday at the Sea Life aquarium in Oberhausen and features a two-metre high plastic replica of Paul finally getting his eight arms on the ball.
The German octopus will be best remembered for correctly predicting all of Germany's 2010 World Cup matches including their two defeats as well as the final result between Holland and Spain. His legacy will also live on as a short film about Paul is in the pipeline and a Russian goods company has recently registered the 'Paul the Octopus' brand name for sports betting and to sell paper, clothes, games, beer and others. Nobody could have predicted that -- not even Paul.
