Party's over for crashed-out Guti

FORMER Real Madrid midfielder Guti found himself in all sorts of trouble in Turkey last Sunday after he crashed his car while under the influence of alcohol.

Guti, who now plays for Besiktas, allegedly veered into the wrong lane before clipping the side of a bus. The Spaniard had apparently been out celebrating his side's 1-0 win over Bursaspor earlier that night.

Thankfully, no one was hurt but the player was found to be five times over the limit. He was subsequently fined and had his licence suspended for six months.

Guti is reported to have said: "I understand that here in Turkey things are exaggerated about me, but it's a lie to say I was drunk."

Having looked at a video clip of the player lurching around the place and trying to attack the cameraman, it would be fair to say that Guti looked very drunk indeed.

Guti had a bit of a reputation as a party animal back in Madrid and once claimed: "I'm a guy who never stops, day or night. I don't see myself going to nightclubs when I'm 60, I see myself doing that now."

Maybe this will wake him up.
