Liverpool's FA Cup tie at home to Blackburn Rovers was held up for close on 10 minutes as medical staff attended to a stricken Martin Skrtel after only two minutes of the match.

The Slovakian defender landed very awkwardly after jumping for the ball challenge with Blackburn's French-born Beninese striker Rudy Gestede and was motionless on the Anfield turf immediately after the fall.
