Republic of Ireland striker marked his first club goal in nearly a year as Alan Pardew enjoyed a 4-0 success in his first game in charge of Crystal Palace.

The Premier League side were far too strong for Dover in the third round of the cup and Doyle bagged his first goal for the club at the death to seal the emphatic victory.

Doyle will be glad to see the back of 2014 and marked his first appearance for the Eagles in nearly two months with a timely reminder to the new boss that he has something to offer the club.

Prior to today's match, the Wexford native had figured in just six games this season, with two of them coming in Irish colours.
