Mohamed Salah says he is "confident" he will be fit to play for Egypt in the World Cup finals next month.

Salah, who left the stadium with his arm in a sling amid fears that he had dislocated a shoulder, is now with the Egyptian national team and he appeared upbeat about his chances in a tweet less that 24 hours after the incident.

"It was a very tough night, but I'm a fighter," he said. "Despite the odds, I'm confident that I'll be in Russia to make you all proud. Your love and support will give me the strength I need."

Salah was in tears as he was forced off after half an hour, with the score at 0-0, following a challenge from Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.
