THE beard is back - Roy Keane showed off his burgeoning facial hair as he rubbed shoulders with golden girl Stephanie Roche last night.

After shaving it off last October, his two-tone facial hair is showing impressive regrowth.

Roche began her weekend in style at the Soccer Writers Association of Ireland Awards in Dublin's Conrad Hotel.

Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill, and assistant manager Keane were among guests.

On Monday, Roche will be rubbing shoulders with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Robin van Persie.

She will travel to Zurich to find out if her spectacular strike against Wexford Youths last year will be voted the best goal of 2014.

Ireland captain Robbie Keane also called on fans to vote for Roche ahead of the Ferenc Puskas Goal of the Year Award. He said Roche "deserves" to win, and it would be "great for Ireland" if she did.
