Robbie Keane takes first step into football management with Indian side ATK
Robbie Keane will take a big step into management tomorrow when he takes charge of Indian Super League club ATK in a player-manager role.
Keane has been playing for the side this season, but will also assume the role of caretaker manager for tomorrow's game against NorthEast United after the departure of Ashley Westwood. Teddy Sheringham had started the season as manager but was sacked after a poor start to the campaign.
Legendary Ireland striker Keane already holds his UEFA A licence and has spoken in the past about his ambitions to become a manager when he finally hangs up his boots.
The 37-year-old has been in good form for ATK lately though, netting five goals in his last six games for the side.
