Paul McGrath has been busy voting for Stephanie Roche

Paul McGrath is the latest big name to vote for Stephanie Roche's stunning goal as the best in the world this year.

The famous goal scored by Roche for Peamount United against Wexford Youths early last season that was viewed over two million times on YouTube has been nominated for the FIFA goal of the season.

Stephanie, who currently plays in France, is the only female nominated and is up against such high-quality players as Tim Cahill, Robin Van Persie, Diego Costa, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and favourite James Rodriquez, with several of the twelve goals nominated coming from the World Cup in Brazil.

Stephanie is well in the running for the award, which is decided by an open public vote, and she is fancied to make it to the last three at least.

And McGrath has thrown his weight behind the Roche juggernaut.

"Been talking about Stephanie all day, has to win top goal unbelievable she has to win simples. STEPHANIE MUST WIN," tweeted McGrath today.
