James McClean, look away now. While the Irishman passionately explained his reasons for not wearing a poppy last night, Millwall and Rangers have gone the extra yards ahead of Remembrance Sunday.

Millwall took to the field against Brentford today wearing an army-style camouflage kit while Rangers wheeled out an artillery gun ahead of their match at Ibrox.

Millwall took advantage of a ruling that states that each club can wear an alternative kit once a season as they raised money for Headley Court, a defence medical rehabilitation unit in Surrey.

Rule 38 states: "Each club is authorised on one occasion per season to play a home match in an 'away' or 'alternative' strip."

Millwall marketing director Alan Williams said: "The one thing I've learnt since being at the club is how amazing the fans are at donating to charity.

"We raise an awful lot of money by doing this."
