Shelbourne Ladies won the Continental Tyres Women's National League Cup in a 3-2 victory over UCD Waves at Richmond Park yesterday.

It was a thrilling derby with four goals in the first half - two apiece for Noelle Murray and Aine O'Gorman - before Leanne Kiernan netted the all-important winner.

Shels took the lead on 11 minutes with a long-range Murray shot. ButO'Gorman hit back with a header from a Jetta Berrill cross. Then Murray got her second - a neat finish inside the box - before O'Gorman put UCD back on level terms after slotting in an equaliser. It stayed at 2-2 going into the interval. Then Kiernan finally got a reward for her hard work when she met Siobhan Killeen's pass to convert the winner.
