Former Cork City defender Kevin O'Connor will make his Preston North End debut on Monday when the lilywhites take on Accrington Stanley in the first round of the League Cup.

O'Connor signed for Preston last month as the last player acquired by former manager Simon Grayson before his move to Sunderland.

After watching former City teammate Seanie Maguire makes his competitive debut against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, O'Connor will now make his club debut as one of nine changes by Alex Neil with Arsenal loanee Stephy Mavididi also set to make his club debut.
