Judge agrees new Brentford deal
Brentford winger Alan Judge has agreed a new contract with the club as he nears a return from the costly leg break he suffered last April.
Judge was vying for a place in Ireland's Euro 2016 squad and was expected to complete a summer transfer to a bigger club when he sustained a double fracture in a Championship match with Ipswich.
The attacking midfielder was linked with a move to Newcastle in the January window but that never came to pass due to his ongoing rehab. He was enjoying the best season of his career before his injury and was shortlisted for Championship player of the year.
His contract is up this summer and Judge has opted for the security of a two-year deal.
"I am really pleased that Alan has committed his immediate future to us," said Brentford boss Dean Smith. "He is close to a full recovery from the terrible injury he suffered and we will certainly reap the benefits when he returns to the standards he was setting in the Championship prior to the injury"
Meanwhile, Dundalk have been dealt an injury blow after learning that key man Robbie Benson will miss six to eight weeks after suffering a grade two hamstring tear in the defeat at Cork City.
