Ireland football star Seamus Coleman set to become a father
Republic of Ireland and Everton defender Seamus Coleman is set to become a dad for the first time.
The 27-year-old full back looks certain to be part of Martin O'Neill's squad for next summer's European Championships in France, but will have another reason to celebrate in 2016 with the arrival of his first child.
The Donegal native married childhood sweetheart Rachel Cunningham in a low-key ceremony last summer and the pair have revealed there will be a new arrival in the Coleman household.
Friends have posted messages of support on Rachel's Facebook page.
"Congratulations hun! Great news. X," was one of the comments left on the page.
Coleman was signed by Sligo Rovers by Everton for a bargain £60,000 in 2009 and made his international bow two years later.
The Killybegs man has been linked with big-money moves away from Goodison Park but penned a lucrative five-and-a-half-year deal with the Toffees last summer.
