Devine links up with Bayern in the USA
Former Ireland international John Devine has landed a plum role in the United States spearheading Bayern Munich's foray into the American market for elite youngsters.
Devine will leave his job as director of football at the South Dublin Football League to assume a new role stateside from January 6 on a three-year contract.
The 57-year-old Dubliner was head-hunted by US firm Global Premier Soccer (GPS), which has joined forces with German giants Bayern to identify potential emerging talent.
GPS, founded by Irish brothers Joe and Peter Bradley, operates in 12 states across America and organises 30 tournaments annually to showcase the best young gems in the country.
