Former Italian manager Cesare Prandelli has claimed Mario Balotelli lives in a world that is “far from reality”.

Prandelli resigned after Italy bowed out of the World Cup with Balotelli guilty of missing a couple of guilt-edged chances in their vital clash against Costa Rica.

“Balotelli is fundamentally a good guy. He is not a bad person,” Prandelli told Corriere della Sera.

“But he lives in a place that is far away from reality. That doesn’t mean anything. He is only 24 years old and has the possibility to build on this experience.”
