Celtic agree reported €330,000 fee for Derry City midfielder Michael Duffy
Michael Duffy's move to from Derry City to Glasgow giants Celtic is back on after the Brandywell club agreed a fee with the Bhoys believed to be in the regions of €330,000.
The 20 year-old midfielder has already had two trials with the Scottish champions, and after refusing third, it was thought that any proposed transfer was off.
However Derry City chief executive Sean Barrett has confirmed that a fee has been agreed with Celtic for the Northern Ireland Under-21 international.
"We have agreed a deal with Celtic for Michael Duffy,” he told STV.
“We thought it was dead in the water, then Celtic contacted at us to say they wanted to sign him. I believe Michael is discussing personal terms”
Duffy is a product of the Derry youth team and made his debut in 2012 and after an impressive 2014, where he netted 16 goals, signed a two-year contract extension to remain at the Brandywell.
After making one appearance for the Republic at U-18 level, he has since represented Northern Ireland at U-19 and U-21 where he has made three appearances.
