'Bizarre news' - Eamon Zayed shocked as he is let go by American side Indy Eleven

Eamon Zayed has had his contract with American side Indy Eleven terminated.

The 34-year-old has been part of the franchise in the United Soccer League since 2015 and is the club's record goal scorer. He inspired Indy to the North America Soccer League title in 2016 and was the club's best player in a poor 2017, scoring 11 times.

Zayed confirmed the news on Twitter and said he will make a full statement in due time.

"A lot of people asking me what happened,I shall write a proper note soon when I digest the bizarre news! But briefly for now,i just want to thank you for all the kind messages and support,honestly you guys are what Indy Eleven is all about, without you all..the club is nothing!," said Zayed.

Indy were formed in 2013 and competed in the North America Soccer League before joining the United Soccer League in 2018.
