O'Donnell agrees new Dundalk deal

DUNDALK have announced the retention of league-winning hero Stephen O'Donnell for the 2015 season.

The midfielder has decided to commit his future to the Louth club despite interest from his former club, Shamrock Rovers.

Cork City, who were on the receiving end of O'Donnell's last day heroics, have retained two experienced members of their panel,with Dan Murray and Colin Healy signing new deals.

Wigan sack Rosler

WIGAN have sacked manager Uwe Rosler after they slipped into the Championship relegation zone. The Latics, who reached the FA Cup semi-finals and Championship play-offs last season, have managed just one win since August.

Last Friday night's 3-1 defeat at local rivals Bolton, in which Wigan conceded three times in 11 second-half minutes, left Rosler "embarrassed" and he accused his players of "giving up.

New blow for Ozil

Arsenal's Mesut Özil will not be fit until the new year at the earliest. The German international suffered a knee ligament injury early in October and had hoped to be back by Christmas.
