There was no Premier League representation in the star-studded FifPro 2013 Team of the Year announced tonight in Zurich.

The three candidates for the Ballon d’Or are included  in a formidable looking team.

Franck Ribery takes his place in midfield alongside Barcelona pair Andres Iniesta and Xavi, with Ronaldo and Leo Messi forming a lethal attack with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

This is the second year in succession without a Premier League representative while it marks the first time players from the Bundesliga or France's Ligue 1 had ever been selected in the Fifa team of the year.

Team of the Year: Manuel Neuer; Dani Alves, Philippe Lahm, Thiago Silva, Sergio Ramos; Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Franck Ribery; Leo Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
