Neville fears for future

Gary Neville fears this season will be his last at Manchester United after admitting his best hope of a game will be the Carling Cup trip to Scunthorpe on September 22.

Neville (35) has yet to make a senior appearance this term after suffering a groin injury during pre-season, but the United captain is now fit for selection.

But with the emergence of Brazilian full-back Rafael da Silva, plus the versatility of Wes Brown and John O'Shea, Neville concedes that his time might be running out.

"Two years ago, I thought it'd be my last season," he said. "Last year I felt the same and I recognise this one could be as well. I'm on a one-year contract and if I don't perform or I feel the club don't want me any more, I'll be gone."
