Mourinho-Inter move reignites Lampard rumours

According to reports in Portugal, former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will take over from Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan within the next 48 hours, a move which could prompt Frank Lampard to follow him, writes John Ley.

Lampard is due to continue talks with Chelsea following England's friendlies this week, but if Inter confirm Mourinho as successor to Roberto Mancini -- one of the front-runners to replace Avram Grant -- he could be persuaded to move.

The fact that Chelsea are without a manager will not help in holding on to the player, who was said to be close to moving to Inter in a four-year deal last week.

Mourinho, who is understood to have agreed a three-year contract worth £7m a year, may not stop at Lampard: he could also raid Chelsea for Didier Drogba.

Mourinho is also reportedly interested in extending Luis Figo's Inter contract, as well as bringing in Deco from Barcelona. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
